Cadaqués has a unique inspiring landscape. Great artists such as Salvador Dalí, Lorca, Picasso or Walt Disney have seen themselves seduced by its beauty.
We have visited Cadaqués three times or so, but this time we’ve decided to take a route of Camí de Ronda from Cadaqués to Portlligat. It is a wonderful trekking path along the coast. The views are breathtaking and during the walk you can access different singular calas. The walk took us about 2 hours from Cadaqués to Portlligat. It might take you less though, we took our time to enjoy the views and take plenty of photographs. To visit Dalí’s House Museum in Portlligat you need to book at least 1 week in advance, maybe more during high season.
When arrived to Port Lligat we entered some of the souvenir shops near the house museum called “Sa Barraca“. Eloi, the guy working in the shop, was more than nice to explain us places to visit around. If you have the chance to pass by, he is a living encyclopaedia about Cadaqués and Cap de Creus.
For lunch, under Eloi’s recommendation we went to “Es Baluard“, a great restaurant in the centre of Cadaqués with specialties of fish and seafood. Make sure you book in advance. As usual we were lucky to have a table that was booked for 3 p.m. The food was delicious and we had a great «once in a life time» chance to have lunch next to a great actor, Daniel Brühl. I am a great fan of his, but I must admit that I didn’t want to ask him for a photo because I preferred to respect his intimacy. As you can see nowadays Cadaqués continues seducing with its beauty plenty of artists. You never know when you’ll see one walking on its streets.
